Commercial Manager Frozen

Purpose of the job

Further develop and grow the frozen category profitably for SADAFCO’s existing business and initiate, develop and introduce to the market new frozen product categories under SADAFCO’s brand.

Strengthen and grow the Traditional &Modern Retail Trade and develop the Out of Home (OOH) channels, including restaurants, boutiques (owned and franchised) and the recently started ice cream vending machine business.

Key Accountabilities

1. Commercial strategy

For approval by CEO, design and draft in co-operation with Director Commercial Operations the frozen business commercial strategy in order to develop and grow this business.

2. Sales

Deliver and implement the sales strategy across all channels (Traditional &Modern Retail Trade and OOH) for all SADAFCO’s frozen product categories in the GCC-region in such a way that it maximizes top and bottom line results.

3. Marketing

To work with Marketing to develop and execute effective marketing strategies and marketing plans to support the development and growth of the frozen business.

4. Supply Chain

To work with Supply Chain by briefing the requirements with regards to (international) suppliers of frozen products and to develop and execute Supply Chain strategies and plans supporting the development and growth of the frozen business.

Negotiations with suppliers are done by Supply Chain.

5. Further cooperation with other functions

To ensure timely and appropriate feedback regarding quality assurance and quality control to Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

6. Sales organization

To manage, coach, develop, train and motivate a team of sales, trade marketing and business development professionals. Ensure the required number and quality of people, and people management is in line with SADAFCO’s HR policies, in order to enable the realization of the targets.

To maximize the utilization of SADAFCO’s assets: freezers, vending machines and delivery vans.

7. Finance and Reporting

Ensure budgeting and financial monitoring and reporting according to SADAFCO’s financial policies in order to ensure proper financial management.

Job Requirements

• Educational level: relevant university degree in Business, Marketing or related field

• Minimal 10 years of relevant experience in FMCG ice cream sales and marketing

• Relevant experience in business development with leading FMCG company in ice cream/ frozen category

• Experience with OOH channel

• Experience in developing concepts and outlet expansion (e.g. franchise management)

• Experience in distribution and channel management

• People management experience; experience in leading a team

• Languages: English, Arabic is an advantage

• Other requirements: international experience is an advantage

Key Competencies

• Seasoned Sales & Business Development professional with extensive experience within the branded FMCG ice cream/ frozen food sector

• Hands-on manager with ability to manage relations effectively: cross functional, top & bottom, must be an enabler or connector and able to leverage people and functions to address issues with practical solutions

• Good strategic sense, analytical skills and effective negotiation skills
