Purpose of the job
Control and manage the market logistics processes to provide the highest level of customer service within budgetary framework.
Ensure smooth functioning of primary fleet, warehouse and all inbound flows to factories and supplies from 3rd parties
Take full responsibility for the successful day to day operation of the distribution network.
Ensure compliance of all operations according to distribution and safety policies in such a way that effective planning is realized and enables optimal productivity.
Key Accountabilities
1. Leadership
Lead the Warehouse, Transport and Factory Coordination teams operationally through appropriate use of systems, processes and organizational principles to deliver KPIs within agreed frameworks.
2. Management
Line-manage the various departmental managers and deliver continual performance improvement across the operation.
3. Policies, Procedures and work instructions
Develop, implement and evaluate logistics and transport policies, procedures and work instructions, in order to ensure quality and consistency of all logistics and transport services.
4. Planning
Make the detailed planning for primary transport services, based on the distribution planning, in order to ensure the required availability of vans and trucks.
5. Transport services
Manage the logistic and transport services for primary distribution and ensure the required truck and driver availability, to realize the logistic and transport planning at lowest cost.
6. Network Optimization
Organize, co-ordinate and manage the availability of stores for temporary storage of equipment, goods and products, according to requirements of Operations and Sales.
Balance storage needs/requirements vs financial impact to ensure optimal availability at minimum overall cost.
7. Safety
Implement and evaluate the safety policies, procedures, and instructions for logistics and transport in order to provide a safe working environment and safe behavior by employees.
8. Administration and reporting
Develop and maintain administrative systems for distribution record keeping and management reporting.
9. HR Management
Ensure and manage an effective distribution organization with the required number and quality of people, and effective people management in line with Sadafco’s HR policies, in order to enable realization of the departmental goals.
10. Finance and budgeting
Carry out the budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting according to Sadafco’s financial policies in order to ensure proper financial management for the Logistics and Transport department.

Job Requirements
• Educational level: University
• Specific diploma/education: Degree in Logistics or related subject
• Minimal experience: 5 years in similar job
• Languages: English (Written and Oral)
