Purpose of the job
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus, by using hand and power tools, in order to keep all utilities’ electrical devices maintained and fully performed with fewer errors
Repair and replace defective components in motors, controllers, storage batteries, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixtures, read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Key Accountabilities
Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance activity for electrical utilities, in order to carry out the standard maintenance schedule and minimize machinery breakdown
Health & Safety
Ensure a clean and safe work area and potential risks are communicated for corrective action in order to follow the company’s health & safety policy
Testing & Installation
Test all electrical instruments and install new plant & electrical equipment, in order to follow the original equipment manufacturer’s instructions and in-house QC procedures
Electrician Responsibilities:
Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
Perform general electrical maintenance.
Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
