Purpose of the job
This Planning function is responsible for planning and facilitating inbound deliveries of all third-party finished goods and materials. It ensures that finished goods and materials are available at the required time and stock levels are maintained according to company norms.
This role is critical for service delivery to enable sales and revenue generation.
Key Accountabilities
Basic Functions:
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of third-party finished goods and materials from order issuance until complete delivery.
- Coordinate with local or international suppliers on the status of each purchase order and ERP with the latest delivery date.
- Inform internal stakeholders on the status of all third-party finished goods and materials.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations.
Job Functions:
- Assist in the preparation of supply plans of third-party finished goods and materials.
- Prepare or convert purchase requisitions into purchase order and send for approvals.
- Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of finished goods and materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate and up-to-date information on order status, delivery dates, and any potential delays.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Planning, Procurement, and Logistics, to gather information on finished goods and material requirements and expedite urgent requests.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies in order fulfillment.
- Regularly the Planning and Procurement team and other stakeholders on the status of orders and any potential issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including order confirmations, delivery receipts, and invoices.
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to the purchasing team to help improve future purchasing decisions.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best value for the organization.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers to ensure a competitive advantage in the procurement process.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations
Key Results:
· Third party finished goods and material items are delivered on time and in full.
· Stocks maintained within ideal parameters in terms of cover and freshness.
· Improved visibility of inbound supply finished goods and materials enabling demand confirmation or constraining as part of the S&OP process.
Skills
Job Requirements
- Years of Experience: Two to Three years of experience in the industry.
- Education/Training: University Degree (Mathematics, Science or Engineering preferred)
- Licenses/Certificates: APICS or other Supply Planning Certification preferred
- Other: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required.
