Job Description
Purpose of the job
To lead and support the team in ensuring maximum utilisation of resources and equipment to achieve efficient production of Right First Time products. This to be achieved within the company quality, safety and environmental frameworks whilst developing a team working and continuous improvement culture.
Key Accountabilities
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
Ensure safe operating practices, all policies and procedures are in place and are adhered to.
Personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviors. Undertake accident and Near Miss Investigations.
Ensure areas achieve and maintain required GMP standards
Ensure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.
Support a culture that enhances behavioral awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
People Management
Manage and motivate the Team. With Head of Production set and monitor targets for Teams.
Manage staff as a first line manager via coaching, regular appraisal, mentoring, training and leadership-by-example, including direct responsibility for a named group of staff.
Time and Attendance system updated timely and accurately
Manage Holiday and Lieu days to ensure that line is covered without extra cost to business.
Manage people via the agreed company policies and procedures. e.g. Ensure all return to work interviews are completed on the first day. Document all discussions and correspondence in relation to absence.
Ensure all company discipline procedures are adhered to. Document all discussions and correspondence in relation to disciplinary procedures.
Identify training needs for team and self. Promote personal ownership of training schedule and delivery.
Audit, monitor and follow SADAFCO operating system (SOS), participate for continuous improvement and lean activities.
Organizational Skills
Ensure efficient operation and control of all resources in your area.
Foster good working environment, ensuring team are regularly briefed on alignment of team and site objectives. Daily “Start of shift” and “End of Shift” briefs. Monthly “Performance Reviews”.
Utilise teams labour resource efficiently.
Attend daily production/planning meeting.
Control within targeted KPI’s rework, wastage and overtime.
Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this
Communication
Liase daily/hourly with colleagues within and across function regarding planning/production matters.
Meet daily / weekly and monthly with Head of Production to review progress against KPI’s and improvement project process.
Work closely with support functions (ES, Quality, Technical & Warehouse) ensure resources required are identified and communicated with all outstanding issues resolved.
Communicate daily with engineering to ensure planned maintenance, engineering and production priorities are considered. Meet with Team daily “EOS” & “SOS” briefings.
